Projector lamps are used by multimedia projector to transfer the image onto a surface or screen. The educational institution and business settings use projectors in seminars and trainings. Projectors are also used in home theatres and public movie houses. Projector lamps are also known as projector bulbs or projector light bulbs in the old days. Early designs impart a yellowish tone on the image that they project, this is not particulary good in images where "true white" is needed. The older designs that create a "yellowish tone" were constructed from Halogen lamps and the newer design which produces "brilliant white" light is made up of Metal-Halide lamps. When buying projector lamps, you must first consider the type of projector lamp that you are going to buy. There are 3 main types of projector lamp, the first one is the projector lamp for slide projectors, then we have the lamps designed for overhead projectors and finally, projector lamps designed for multimedia projectors. The wattage varies depending on the type and applicatio of the projector lamp. Multimedia projector lamps are the most expensive costing several hundred to several thousand dollars.
